UT Wines
The University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture has partnered with the Tennessee Farm Winegrowers Alliance to release limited edition wines. The partnership was established to raise awareness of the Tennessee wine industry and to support viticultural research through the University of Tennessee’s Institute of Agriculture. Every bottle of UT Wine or Cider purchased contributes to one of two impactful initiatives: the Don Collier Viticulture Fund, which supports vineyard and grape research in Tennessee, or the Peter Howard Endowment for Wine and Ag Tourism, which directly supports the viticulture industry through student internships at Tennessee vineyards, wineries, and other agritourism destinations.
Arrington Vineyards produced a smooth, dry red called Morgan Hall Red. To complement this wine, Apple Barn Cider House created a sweet cider made from Tennessee Red Muscadine grapes and apples called Sweet Traditions.
Made up of 80% Chambourcin grapes and 20% Petite Sirah grown in Arrington, in Williamson County, this red was created by Arrington Vineyards in Middle Tennessee. Aged for 18 months in French and American Oak barrels, Morgan Hall Red is dry with smooth tannins and flavors reminiscent of wild blackberry, mulberry, and vanilla oak. This is the perfect gift for UT alumni and fans who tend to drink dry reds like Merlot or Syrah.
Not a wine drinker? We’ve got you covered! We traveled to East Tennessee to Apple Barn Cider House in Sevierville to get Sweet Traditions. Bright and juicy with bold notes of ripe red muscadine and crisp apple, this sweet hard cider offers a vibrant fusion of Southern charm and orchard freshness. Smooth on the palate with a luscious finish, it’s a perfect balance of fruit-forward flavor and refreshing sweetness. Flavors from the Red Muscadine include red plum, cherry, and strawberry. This hard cider is just under 7% alcohol and is perfect for cider and sweet wine drinkers.
